Years of Entrepreneurship Goodluck Glass Traders-GGT has been a renowned name in the glass market since 35 years. The journey had started by Mr Taherbhai with a small retail glass shop way back in 1975 at Nagpada in mumbai. For the first 5 years GGT ventured into a retail glass business and small glass cutting facility. It than specialized into glass-installations in small residences and buildings. Moving Ahead steadily The ideas and vision of Mr Taherbhai did not confine to just glass retail business. Withing a span of few years GGT stimulated into complete supply of Sheet glass to various companies. Among the top list were Godrej, Colgate-Palmolive, Cipla, Hindustan Lever etc. At the same time it supplied glass for aluminium glazing to builders and contractors. The Era of Imports-Wholesale Trading In the early eighties the demand of glass increased at an exponential rate. Sheet Glass became obsolete and the entry of float glass came into the market. Taking it as a huge opportunity, the firm ventured into Float glass imports in the year 1984. It imported all kinds of Float and figured Glass, Reflective and Tinted glass from Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan. It became one of the largest supplier of Imported Glass in the wholesale market.. The First Indian Float Glass Industry In 1992 when Gujarat Guardian Ltd-Modiguard was launched as the first float glass line in the country, Goodluck Glass Traders led the march becoming one of the first authorized dealers for its products. It became the authorized stockists for Modiguard branded float glass of various thicknesses from 2mm-19mm and Branded Mirrors. In the following years it obtained dealership of other Indian companies viz., Asahi India and Saint Gobain Float Glass. Tha Launch of Goodluck Enterprises-GE The introduction of World-class Float glass products led to a revolution in the Indian glass industry. New ideas and thoughts crept in the minds of designers and engineers. Now the use of glass was not just confined to window panes, doors and shelves but the concept went miles beyond that. At this point of time GGT realized that value addition was the key to growth. This led to the launch of GOODLUCK ENTERPRISES (GE) in the year 1993. It marked a new era with GE specializing into exclusive decorative and stained glass. Various glass processes like glass Hot-cold fusion, Bending, Sandblasting, Engraving Glass Innovations The only things constant in today’s world is CHANGE and technology is responsible for it.Glass is no more looked at as a breakable material. The tempering and lamination lines in the country have widened the use of glass in many architectural applications.
